![]() These results indicate that proprioception training may have positive effects on the function of the deep cervical flexors. Pressure pain sensitivity did not change for either group.ĬONCLUSION:Both specific cranio-cervical flexion training and proprioception training had a comparable effect on performance on the cranio-cervical flexion test, a test of the neuromuscular control of the deep cervical flexors. Both groups showed a reduction in their pain at rest and disability at 2 months, but this was also not different between groups ( p > 0.05). ![]() ![]() RESULTS:At 2 months, both groups improved their performance on the cranio-cervical flexion test ( p 0.05). Performance on the cranio-cervical flexion test, pressure pain thresholds and reported levels of pain and disability were measured before and immediately after the first treatment session, 1 month after starting treatment and 2 months after starting treatment (at completion of the intervention). Both groups performed daily home exercise. METHODS:Twenty-eight volunteers with chronic non-specific neck pain were randomly assigned to 1 of 2 interventions and undertook 6 physiotherapist-supervised sessions over a period of 2 months. OBJECTIVE:To compare the effects of cranio-cervical flexion vs cervical proprioception training on neuromuscular control, pressure pain sensitivity and perceived pain and disability in patients with chronic neck pain. Anyone can do it, and do it well with just a little practice. I couldn't make a reliable estimate for how many people do tilt-shift photos. How many tilt-shift photographers are there in Seattle? The country? Figure out what part you want to remain in sharp focus, then blend the levels together as seamlessly as you can, with the focus decreacing away from the one sharp area. Starting with a photo in sharp focus, you create more levels of the same image, but blurred in different stages. ![]() All the photos I've done have been done in post-production with the GIMP, an open-source alternative to Photoshop. You can do it in-camera with special lenses (all with varying levels of affordability, but Lensbaby makes a variety of affordable options to give it a try), or in post-production. There are two ways of achieving the look. The result is similar to what a photo of a scale model would look like. Another way of saying it is forced focus - taking a scene and forcing only one part of it to be in focus. By changing the placement of the camera lens, it can change the area of focus and allows for sharp focus on a small area of the frame. Official tilt-shift photography is the use of special camera lenses that tilt angles and shift up and down from the frame of film being exposed. We swapped emails with Erynn Rose, a Seattle photographer embracing this trend to find out more about this interesting photo genre. Before starting the video below, you can follow along by downloading the sample image he uses by clicking here. This month we highlight the creativity and, um, small mindedness of tilt-shift photographers who make real-life landscapes look like scale models. Tilt-shift lenses are often expensive and are specialized lenses, so is it possible to recreate this type of effect using only Photoshop? As Aaron Nace of Phlearn shows in his latest video, yes, it is. This results in the "miniature" effect I mentioned earlier. Alternatively, instead of capturing more of a scene in focus, you can also tilt the lens to make the focal plane very narrow, even when shooting at wide angles. This allows you to keep different areas (think foreground versus background) of an image in focus. However, with a tilt-shift lens, you can angle the focal plane. A traditional lens' focal plane is always parallel to the image sensor. ![]() The other aspect of a tilt-shift lens, the tilting, allows you to change the focal plane of the lens. This is the "shift" part of a tilt-shift lens. A tilt-shift lens allows you to point your camera straight on and keep your sensor parallel with the face of the camera while shifting the lens rather than pointing the camera upward. If you tilt your camera upward with a traditional lens, the lines of the building will angle in toward the center of the frame rather than be straight. When shooting a building, for example, it's almost always the case that you are looking up at a building. Tilt-shift lenses are specialized photographic tools, often used by architecture photographers to ensure that the lines in their images are straight. With a tilt-shift lens, you can use the lens' unique design to do all sorts of interesting things, including creating a miniature, toy-like image. ![]() ![]() At the same time in an effort to give a competitive quote it could even force you to at times compromise on your margins as well. ![]() It can rob you off the bargaining position.Having to compete with too many competitors, will have some serious problems sometimes: The first and foremost, like all other businesses, involves deciding on a venue to set up your money exchange business. The competition in the electric truck arena is about to become fierce, and consumers are poised to be the real winners.įront trunks, otherwise known as “frunks,” are one of the common benefits of EVs, creating a second storage space. All will have to face the engineering and manufacturing might behind the Ford Motor Company and its massive dealership network. And there are other companies lurking around the periphery struggling to bring their models to market, such as Canoo and Lordstown. This long-expected move puts Ford on the board as other EV players race to introduce their trucks, such as the GMC Hummer EV truck, Rivian R1T, and Tesla Cybertruck. The fuel-economy benefits of moving the F-150 from gas to electric far outshine changes to any other single model on the market because of its massive sales volume and relatively modest fuel economy (compared with cars and most SUVs). Now multiply that by 400,000 trucks-roughly half as many F-Series trucks as Ford sells in a good year-and you get 258 million gallons of gasoline saved. In a year, a typical owner drives 12,000 miles, and their truck consumes 645 gallons. The F-150 Lightning will be offered in four versions with two battery options. The commercial-grade Lightning Pro starts at $39,974 before any federal or state tax credits, and the midseries XLT model starts at $52,974 before incentives. (The range spans from 230, 300, and 320 miles, depending on how it is equipped.) The Ford F-150 has been the centerpiece of innovation in recent years, with turbocharged V6 engines replacing traditional V8s, aluminum bodywork shaving off up to 700 fuel economy-sapping pounds, a hybrid version that gains power and functionality, and now there will soon be an electric crew-cab pickup truck with an EPA-estimated range of up to 320 miles. Ford first entered the EV world in 2011 with the Focus Electric, a conversion of its compact hatchback. This latest Lightning is a truck for a new, greener era, promising prodigious power, swift acceleration, and strong towing capacity while sipping electrons rather than gasoline. It’s Ford’s second major foray into the EV market, with the introduction of its 2021 Mustang Mach-E-an SUV-ish version of its storied pony car. ![]() Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
